After back-to-back losses, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is feeling the pressure, and will be desperate for a win.

After winning the Premier League last season, the Blues find themselves sitting 16th on the table, and coming off a 3-1 loss to Southampton, where they gave up an early lead.

Mourinho has never lost back-to-back home games, and will be eager to keep that record going.

Chelsea will be boosted by the return of Diego Costa, who returns from a three-week suspension after being found guilty of violent conduct in Chelsea’s 2-nil win over Arsenal.

The London side have conceded the second-most goals this season, 17, and first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is still unavailable, targeting a December return.

Eight games into the season, Aston Villa find themselves in the relegation zone with just one win and six losses.

However, Villa’s general manager revealed that Tim Sherwood’s fate would not be decided in the next two games, and has backed the gaffer to succeed.

Villa are coming off back-to-back losses, most recently at home against Stoke City, where Marko Arnautovic’s 55th-minute goal sealed the win for the Potters.

Aston Villa have not had a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge since 1998, conceding 30 times in their last eight visits to the venue.

The last time these two sides faced off was in February, with Branislav Ivanovic netting the winner in the 66th minute for Chelsea to take a 2-1 victory at Villa Park.

Prediction
Diego Costa’s return should spark some much-needed life into a bland Chelsea side, so expect Mourinho’s men to find form.

Chelsea 2 – 0 Aston Villa
