The Sydney Kings have successfully avenged their shock loss to the Adelaide 36ers last round, running out a 22-point win at home on Thursday night.

After a tight first quarter the 36ers were able to get in front and lead 23-22, but the second quarter was dominated by the Kings and set up a winning leading of 55-40 at half time, led by Al Harringon and Jason Cadee.

In the third quarter the 36ers bounced back to win the quarter with Jerome Randle nailing some important shots to keep them with a sniff of another comeback.

In the end though, the Kings would put their foot to the floor in the dying stages, running out 106-84 winners with import Harrington the best on court.

Harrington finished with 27 points and Cadee 22 for Sydney, while Randle had 22 and Johnson 15 for the 36ers.

A nice win at home and they responded to last weeks tough loss really well.

Final score:
Sydney Kings 106
Adelaide 84

Sydney have to find a way to get over the heartbreak of their away defeat to Adelaide, after dominating the majority of the game.

With the Kings leading by 18 points at three-quarter time, the 36ers charged back to take the win, Jerome Randle hitting two free throws with 5.7 seconds on the clock.

Randle – who was disappointed against the Breakers – led the last-quarter charge and was well supported by Anthony Petrie, Daniel Johnson and Ebi Eri.

The 36ers’ withering final stanza will leave massive mental scars for the Kings to overcome. Sat on the bottom of the NBL ladder, with a 2-7 record, Sydney need to respond in front of their home crowd to keep their season alive.

The head-to-head record is in the 36ers’ favour, taking four of the past five meetings.

This season, aside from last Friday’s match-up, the two sides also faced off in October, the 36ers taking a 91-80 win on the road.

Last season they played each other three times, the 36ers winning the last two. So the last time the Kings defeated the 36ers was in Adelaide in November 2014.
