Second-placed Brisbane Roar come up against a confidence-stricken Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium this afternoon. Join The Roar from 5:00 pm AEDT for live scores and coverage.

Perth Glory have had eight days to recover from a demoralising FFA Cup final defeat to the rampant Melbourne Victory. They were outclassed for the majority of the 90 minutes, and were lucky to escape with a 2-0 scoreline.

However, eight days should be enough time to regather and regain some confidence heading into a difficult Round 6 encounter. Brisbane and Perth have met some 31 times in the past, with the Roar winning 17 of those encounters, and Perth just six.

With history and form against the Glory, they do have one thing going for them, the return of key players Gyorgy Sandor and Diego Castro. Josh Risdon is away on international duty, but the return of these two attacking players will add exactly what was missing against Victory last week – creativity.

Victory outclassed the Glory when going forward, and without much firepower at the other end, it was always going to be a one-sided affair.

Today’s match could easily end in a similar fashion, with a revitalised Brisbane Roar showcasing some of the better football so far this year. Sandor and Castro will be key players for Perth tonight.

Brisbane, on the other hand, lose Jamie Maclaren, Corey Brown and Matt McKay to international duty, though they too are bolstered with the return of James Donachie and Henrique from injury. Neither player is expected to start, but both could feature at some point.

Also one to watch out for is NYL player Nick D’Agnostino who comes into the squad for the Ollyroos striker Jamie Maclaren.

Both teams are missing some players, and both have returning members from injury. However, Brisbane hold onto the core of their squad, with Corona, Steven Lustica, Brandon Borrello, Jade North and Daniel Bowles and the always-dangerous Thomas Broich all likely to start for John Aloisi’s firing Brisbane Roar.

Prediction: Expect Brisbane Roar to play their direct, attacking style and almost certainly overpower Perth whose defence has never handled pace well. Brisbane to win 3-0.
