Young gun Port Adelaide footballer, Chad Wingard, has ended any speculation that his future could lead away from Alberton, signing a contract extension that will see him remain with the Power through until the end of the 2019 season.

The 22-year-old has been widely considered one of the most exciting young talents in the league since he burst onto the scene in 2012, and fans can now look forward to him adding to his extensive highlights reel in the years to come.

Since 2012, Wingard has played 89 games in four seasons for Port Adelaide, kicked 148 goals, secured a place on the All-Australian team twice (2013 and 2015), won the John Cahill medal (2013), and the mark of the year (2014).

Wingard’s new deal follows a strong run on signings for the Power, who have recently extended the contracts of captain Travis Boak and best and fairest winner Robbie Gray. The signature of Ollie Wines is also expected to be announced in the coming days.
