It will be an inter-conference match with plenty at stake in the 2015-16 NBA season when the Boston Celtics take on the Denver Nuggets at the TD Garden. Join The Roar for live scores from 11:30am (AEDT).

The Boston Celtics, while certainly not as desperate for a win as the Nuggets when the teams clash at the TD Garden, are certainly going to be keen for one. Having won six from their last eight clashes, the Celtics have raced up towards the top four in the East, now sitting in fifth position just one game back from the Chicago Bulls who sit in fourth, and 7.5 games back from the top placed Eastern Conference team – the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Denver Nuggets meanwhile, have been in pretty poor form having only won two from their last six games. While they have played some strong teams, such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks during that run, they have also lost to teams like the Memphis Grizzlies.

In saying that, the Nuggets have held strong in all those games and never been blown out of the water by a decent margin.

The biggest battle on court looks to be that of Isaiah Thomas for the Celtics and Danillo Galinari for the Nuggets. Both players lead their respective teams in scoring for the season, and in a game that could be very high scoring both players will have a huge role to play. Look for Avery Bradley, the Celtics point guard to be a point of difference though.

The teams haven’t actually matched up so far in this season, with their last meeting coming on the 5th of February in 2015. During the 2014-15 season, the Celtics would win both games played by a total of one and four points, giving us two very close games. We should expect more of the same here.

With two upcoming meetings in the 2015-16 season, this could also help to set the momentum for the next one, and neither team can afford two losses against the same team.

Prediction
We should be in for another close game as these teams have continuously played out over the last few years. The Celtics have been strong in their push towards the top four in the East, while the Nuggets have just been flat out inconsistent, making it impossible to tip them.
