Two in-from teams go head to head, as the Boston Celtics host the Los Angeles Clippers in what shapes as one of the games of the season. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from 11:30am (AEDT).

The Celtics are coming off a one-point loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, yet have won nine of their last 11 matches.

Boston have been gradually moving up the standings out east during the middle third of the season, and now sit third place, with a record of 31 wins and 23 losses.

The biggest win throughout this run was a one-point victory on the road over the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this week.

Meanwhile, despite returning from injury after fracturing his hand in an altercation with an equipment manager in Toronto, Blake Griffin has been given further punishment by the Clippers in the form of a four-game suspension.

Still, the Clips have won eight of their last ten matches without Griffin. Beating the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat headline the strong patch of form, which has them fourth in the west, 12.5 games back from the Golden State Warriors.

In the absence of Griffin, the Clippers have placed a much larger emphasis on their outside shooting, and getting the ball in Chris Paul’s hands.

The teams are yet to meet this current season, however the Clippers have won their last four against the Celtics, and six of their last eight.

Prediction
It’s difficult to see the Clippers overcoming the loss of Griffin, with the Celtics having the likes of Amir Johnson and Wesley Sullinger in the paint.

Celtics by 2.
