In their final hit out before Round 1, the Gold Coast Suns take on the Adelaide Crows at Metricon Stadium. Join The Roar for all the action from 8:40pm (AEDT).

The Gold Coast surprised many in falling only three points short against the West Coast in Joondalup with an inexperienced squad.

Aaron Hall, in particular, was superb against the Eagles, registering 16 tackles to go with his 18 possessions.

The Crows’ preseason has been against the two Western Australia sides. They beat an understrength West Coast by 100 points at Unley Oval, then copped a two-point loss to Fremantle at Mt Barker.

Matt Crouch was one of the best for the Crows against Fremantle, with 26 possessions.

Gary Ablett Jr will not play due to a tendon injury in the bone of his foot, however it is hoped he will play in Round 1 against Essendon. The Gold Coast have a depleted midfield, with Jaeger O’Meara and David Swallow also on the injury list.

The Crows will field a team that resembles their opening round side. First-choice players such as Sam Jacobs, Taylor Walker and Eddie Betts return, though Brad Crouch will miss what was meant to be his return game due to disciplinary action.

Adelaide’s injury list is low, so new recruits Paul Seedsman and Troy Menzel need to impress to guarantee a Round 1 spot against North Melbourne. There is also huge hype locally concerning 2015 first round draft pick Wayne Milera, who is being compared to club great Andrew McLeod.

Prediction
The Crows to be too strong for a Gold Coast Suns side missing key players.
