Match preview:

The Golden State Warriors, who are still the best team anywhere in the NBA, will take on the struggling and out of form Phoenix Suns, in what could become one of the most lopsided matches of the season. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from 2:30pm (AEDT).

The Warriors proved they are not completely safe in each and every game when they took on the bottom-placed team in the Western Conference the Los Angeles Lakers and went down very ordinarily away from home.

The loss might well have been a godsend for the Warriors, despite the fact they are wanting to win every game possible in an attempt to break the Chicago Bulls’ all-time record for most games won in a season of 72. Sitting with a record of 58 wins and six losses, they only need to win 15 of their final 18 matches, or 14 to tie the record.

If they are going to break the record, then games like this are absolute must-wins. Assisting the Warriors will be the fact that 12 of their final 18 matches are going to be played at home, and incredibly they haven’t lost at home yet this season, a perfect record of 29 and 0.

The Suns meanwhile sit second last in the Western Conference, struggling to stay ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers and avoid the final position. With a record of 17 wins and 48 losses, it has been a very tough season for Phoenix. Injuries have struck them down at times, but they have been unable to find their rhythm on either end of the floor.

Phoenix have lost seven out of their last 10 matches coming into this game and are almost mathematically out of the post-season positional contest.

The teams have already met on three occasions this season, with the Warriors taking all three matches, as one might expect, rather convincingly.

While their most recent match was only won by eight points, the two before it were absolute blowouts. In their first meeting of the season, the Warriors would win by 19 away from home, before winning at home just a month later by 25 points.

Prediction
The Warriors haven’t looked like losing many games at all this season, let alone to the struggling Suns. Unless they get off to a fast start then the Warriors will have very little trouble posting a massive score from their offensive game.

Warriors by 12.
