The Golden State Warriors are the heavy favourites to record yet another win when they host the New Orleans Pelicans today. Join The Roar for live scores from the match, starting at 1:30pm AEDT.

The Warriors will reach a significant milestone if they win today, racking up their 60th win of the season, and also their 31st home win. A victory would also put them four wins clear of the San Antonio Spurs with time running out in the season for the Spurs to make up the difference.

The Warriors have been in winning form lately, moving on from a shock loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last week with four consecutive wins over the Orlando Magic (119-113), the Utah Jazz (115-94), the Portland Trail Blazers (128-112), and most recently the Phoenix Suns (123-116).

The Pelicans aren’t having much of a season compared to their opponents. They’ve got a 24-41 record, winning a little more than one in three, but that’s only good enough for 12th spot in the Western Conference, where they sit a win behind the Sacramento Kings, and three ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

They come into this match on the back of three losses in a row against the Charlotte Hornets (113-122), the Memphis Grizzles (114-121), and the Milwaukee Bucks (92-103), with their most recent win coming a little over a week ago against the Kings (115-112).

The two teams have met twice already this season with both meetings coming early in the year. The Warriors have beaten the Pelicans both at home (111-95) and on the road (134-120).

Prediction
Simply put the Warriors are miles ahead of the Pelicans in terms of their performances and nothing looks likely to change. They have been impenetrable at home, winning 30 matches there without a loss, and if there is going to be a team to break that unbeaten home record, it’s not the Pelicans.
