The Boston Celtics face Miami Heat for the third time this season with the Southeast Division up for grabs, the showdown taking place at TD Garden. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from 10:00am (AEST).

The Celtics are 18-3 from their last 21 games at home, but have to bounce back from a 114-100 defeat to Charlotte on Tuesday.

On the opposite side of the court, the Heat have managed to win three of their last four fixtures.

Importantly, a win for either side secures a home quarter-final birth. Whether that is third or fourth place remains to be seen, based on Atlanta’s performance today but with the Heat third, and Celtics fifth but dominating the season series, a win for them would result in the two sides tying records, giving the home final to Boston.

The Celtics have beaten Heat twice this season, winning 105-95 in November at American Airlines Arena where guard Avery Bradley scored 25 points. Celtics forced 19 turnovers including six from Dwyane Wade.

In February, Celtics overpowered Heat 101-89 at TD Garden where they had a huge 20 turnovers.

Joe Johnson fired for the Heat on Tuesday in Detroit scoring 25 points, his most productive performance since joining his new team as a free agent after the trade deadline.

Heat forward Luol Deng scored his fifth double-double in ten games while Hassan Whiteside secured 14 points and a double-double on Wednesday.

Celtics guard Marcus Smart has reached double figures in three of his last four games and managed 15 points against Miami in February.

Miami guard Goran Dragic has an average of 17.3 points from seven games this month.

The Heat could be without rookie Justise Winslow due to an ankle injury with forward Dorell Wright to fill the void. Tyler Johnson will miss the game due to a shoulder injury while Chris Bosh will sit out due to a blood clot.

Prediction
Boston with home court advantage should get the job done.

Celtics by 7.
