The Atlanta Hawks need to start winning if they hope to give themselves a chance in their Eastern Conference semi-final series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Join The Roar for live scores from Game 3, starting from 9am AEST.

The Cavaliers have won the first two matches of the series and both by comfortable margins, putting them in a solid position to move towards the Eastern Conference finals sooner, rather than later.

In the first game they defeated the Hawks 104-93, moving out to a comfortable lead after being ahead by just four points at the final break. Their result in the second match was significantly more decisive, as they won 123-98.

LeBron James has been his usual productive self in both matches, recording 25 points in the first and 27 in the second to be Cleveland’s top scorer in both.

However he’s had some quality help, with Kyrie Irving putting in 40 points across the two matches, and Kevin Love and JR Smith topping the 20 point mark in the first and second games respectively.

Dennis Schroder had a big one for Atlanta in Game 1 with a match-high 27 points and also six assists, but wasn’t sighted nearly as much in Game 2. Paul Millsap has been consistent across both matches, totaling 33 points and 24 rebounds across the two games so far.

With two home wins now banked the Cavaliers will be looking to replicate their form on the road. They’ll head in as the slight favourites today, but the Hawks are certainly in with a chance of getting a win on their own home court.

Prediction
The Cavaliers form seems to have lifted a bit during the playoffs and they’re yet to cop a loss. While the Hawks at home will be a challenge, the Cavaliers look more likely to take the win today.
