The Miami Heat managed to pinch a game of their Eastern Conference semi-final series against the Toronto Raptors and there is massive pressure on both teams in Game 3. Join The Roar for live scores from 7am (AEST).

The Raptors finally managed to get out of the first round of the NBA playoffs are two straight failures when they were favourites. Despite that, it was still a seven game series as they managed to get the better of the Indiana Pacers.

It was thought that maybe they were first round jitters and nerves, but nothing seemed to change in Game 1 as they were dominated at home. They managed to get the win in Game 2, but it wasn’t comfortable or convincing in any way, shape or form.

With that, this series looks to be completely in the Heat’s hands. The Raptors it could be assumed will play poorly for enough games, or parts of games, to allow the Heat to take the series.

The Heat need to be working on their consistency as well. Their first-round series went to seven games against the Charlotte Hornets – something they would have been disappointed about, particularly considering they had fallen behind 3 games to 2 with the home court advantage.

At the same time, what that does help to show is that Miami are cool under pressure. It’s not hard to see why either with Dwayne Wade and Hassan Whiteside leading the way. Whiteside is known for his massive work inisde the paint, while every element of Wade’s game has been clicking.

On the contrary, Jonas Vlanciunis for Toronto has been doing a decent job inside the paint, but it just isn’t enough against one of the best big men in the league.

For Toronto to win, as always it is down to DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. Their shooting has been poor at best, and it is time for them to find some consistency.

Prediction
The Heat should get the job done on home court here. Toronto are so inconsistent at the moment you can never be sure, but Dwayne Wade is in good form and should get them over the line.

Heat by 11.
