The Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs are set to play the fourth game of their semi-final series, which has so far provided some incredible results. Join The Roar for live scores from the match, starting from 10am AEST.
The Spurs won Game 1 of this series in a 124-92 hiding. They simply seemed able to do no wrong in that match and dominated the Thunder in every aspect, LaMarcus Aldridge their chief weapon with 38 points, twice the best effort of any Spurs player (19 from Serge Ibaka).
However any fears prompted by that match-up that the Thunder may not prove a worthy opponent in this series were soon wiped away when they came surging out of the blocks to take a 1-point win away from home in Game 2.
Although that match finished in controversial circumstances it was an impressive win by the Thunder nonetheless and upset the Spurs applecart early on by taking a crucial win on the road. Russell Westbrook (29) and Kevin Durant (28) were the key point producers for the Thunder then, while Aldridge put up another 41.
Then in Game 3 the Thunder had their first home match of the series and gave up a four-point win to the resurgent Spurs, who saw Kawhi Leonard dominate with 31 points, 11 rebounds and three assists – though Westbrook with 31 points, nine rebounds and eight assists was also big, in the losing side.
So now the series is poised at 2-1 in favour of the Spurs, where we thought we’d be perhaps but with the results not coming in the order expected, only one match so far going the way of the home side.
Prediction
Tipping that the team on the road will continue to deliver in this series, the Spurs to take a small win and go into Game 5 with a chance to finish the series.
