It’s been a fun series; the young and inexperienced Blazers haven’t taken a backward step in this fight against the goliaths of the NBA. And while Steph Curry has only played in one game of the series, the rest of his side has continued the battle and done so with great results.

With the series returning to the Bay Area for Game 5, few people are giving the Blazers much hope of extending this to. And it does seem like a near-impossible task.

The Blazers will be counting on big games from their dynamic backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum while at the same time hoping the Warriors guards are off their game.

In Game 3 of the series, an offensive outburst from Portland’s marquee point guard Lillard dropped 40 points and led the Blazers to the win. Unfortunately from then, the Warriors welcomed back their now two-time MVP Curry, and the Blazers could do little as he rained down 17 points in overtime to snatch Game 4 on the road.

While all of the talk has been centred around that record-breaking display and Curry becoming the first unanimous MVP in league history, there is another deadly part of the Golden State side who does just as much, if not more, for his side. If Steph is the head of this beast of a side, then Draymond Green is their heart.

Green has staggering averages in this series of 24.5 points, 11.25 rebounds, 7.75 assists, 1.75 steals and 3.75 blocks. He is doing everything in this series at an incredible rate, and the argument can be made that that he is more valuable to the Warriors than Curry.

All of these signs don’t point to great news for the Blazers, but the fight they’ve shown throughout the entire season and in these playoffs will hold them in good stead. No matter what happens, win or lose, the Blazers have garnered a lot of respect from the NBA, and deservedly so.

Prediction
Golden State to put this one away just after halftime and then coast home before advancing to the Western Conference Finals. Damian Lillard will have a big game but an unlikely hero in the form of Harrison Barnes will step up and deliver big shot after big shot for Golden State.
