Match preview:

The Brisbane Bullets and the Illawarra Hawks are both looking to sure up their position in the top four when they do battle on Monday night.

Last time these two sides met, the Bullets went down to the Hawks by ten points on their home court.

“Certainly 20 turnovers is a problem,” coach Andrej Lemanis said following that defeat.

“It’s something that’s really crept in over the last few games. I’m not sure whether we’re starting to lose a bit of confidence, second-guessing ourselves, not executing offensively.

“Obviously that’s something we’ve got to take care of because you can’t keep shooting yourselves in the foot with 20 turnovers.”

After a slow start to the year the Hawks have been in good form lately, winning six of their past nine. However, they would’ve been disappointed with their comprehensive 17-point loss to the Cairns Taipans on Saturday.

“As Bevo says to us, we can be so damn good when we want to be, it’s when we get complacent and we have those lapses that we really show our underbelly,” said Hawks captain Oscar Forman.

“The first half (against Cairns) everything we did in training went to plan, the second half we decided to freelance and go off it and we’re not a good enough team to go off our plan.”

The Hawks are third on the table and the moment and Brisbane fourth, both with eight wins apiece.

Prediction
These two teams are pretty even. The home court advantage didn’t help Brisbane much last time they played the Hawks, but maybe this week it will.

Brisbane Bullets to win by 6.
