The Western Sydney loss overnight has given renewed hope to the rest of the finals-chasing pack, and a win for Perth could throw a cat right amongst the pigeons.

Perth has not had the greatest of seasons, it’s pretty fair to say, however a win tonight will take them to the brink of playing beyond round 27.

Also, the next four matches could very well determine whether Kenny Lowe continues at the helm, noting some of the lows that this team has reached this season.

In the reverse, a lot of credit has to go to the Victory. A month ago they were gone, their season apparently cooked.

However, in distinct contrast to rivals Sydney FC, the Asian Champions League has revitalised Melbourne, using their Asian adventure to be the form side of the comp.

Melbourne should be at near full strength for this encounter, minus only James Troisi on international duty, and eager to maintain the good form that has seen them surge back into championship contention.

With their crosstown rivals getting an easy win last night over the Wanderers, Victory can go back to third with an away win here.

Keep an eye out for Leroy George to continue his form in front of goal, whether that be creating chances for others, or doing the finishing himself.

Melbourne are on a 3-match winning streak against Perth, while Perth have only managed to pick up the solitary win in the last 5 encounters between these 2 sides.

Prediction
Melbourne are in hot form and should have more than enough talent across the park, on the back of the form player of the comp Leroy George, to take all 3 points and jump straight back into third.

Melbourne 3-1.
