Some big casualties headline the chatter around team list Tuesday for Round 4, with the Perith Panthers and Newcastle Knights set to be heavily impacted. Join The Roar for all the live updates and news and then the team lists for Round 4 from 3:30pm (AEDT).

Nathan Cleary and Connor Watson – halves for the Panthers and Knights respectively – are both expected to be in for long stints on the sideline.

Cleary picked up a grade three MCL and is set to be out for ten weeks, while Watson went down with a shoulder injury in the Knights’ loss to the Roosters and is expected to miss up to 12 weeks.

The Broncos also took a hit last week, with Corey Oates and in-form prop Tevita Pangai Junior both set to miss two weeks with a hip and hamstring injury respectively.

The Parramatta Eels, who have scored just four points in their last two games, are also going to be without Jarryd Hayne for between two to four weeks after suffering a hip flexor injury. In better news for Brad Arthur’s men, Bevan French is rated a 50-50 chance of making his return in what would be a direct replacement.

In better news around the competition, the Tigers are expected to be able to play Benji Marshall after he suffered an ankle injury against Brisbane. With Josh Reynolds’ return pushed back another week, that shapes as a huge boost for Ivan Cleary’s men.

In other positive news, Simon Mannering is due back for the Warriors, Lachlan Coote should play his first game of the season for the Cowboys and Felise Kaufusi is also due back for the Storm.

Matt Moylan and Luke Lewis are both in a race against the clock to prove their fitness for the Sharks, while Raiders lock Joe Tapine could also make his return.

The only club with a seemingly clean bill of health heading into Round 4 are the St George Illawarra Dragons, who sit at the top of the table after a superb start to the season.
