Round 6 of the AFL lacked close matches, with the games played predominantly one sided. The Kangaroos, Lions and Suns were disappointing, while the Saints showed good endeavour, but failed to get the chocolates once again.

Bulldogs vs Blues
The Bulldogs grabbed a well needed win, which will hopefully be something that they build on. Once again the Blues let themselves and their fans down. Cripps was a shining light once again for the navy Blues.

Cats vs Swans
This AFL Season is tough, tight and unpredictable. It was expected that the Cats would have won this game, given it was at home and the Swans were without Dan Hannebery and in particular key forwards Lance Franklin, Dean Towers and Sam Reid.

It was difficult to see where the goals would come from, but surprisingly the Swans were victors and they managed to get a win on the board, with a smaller makeshift forward line.

Kangaroos vs Power
The Kangaroos were coming off two good wins in a row and appeared to have momentum. They took a step backwards with their loss to the Power, while the Power bounced back from two losses in a row. This game is symptomatic of the season so far, with it difficult to get a read on these two teams.

Giants vs Lions
The Giants are clearly missing Josh Kelly, Rory Lobb and Tom Scully. Every team has injuries but they are key players for the Giants. It definitely wasn’t their best performance, while Lions fans have little to cheer about.

Hawks vs Saints
The Saints stayed in the game until the last quarter. This week and last week the Saints have taken a step forward, in spite of not picking up the four points on offer, however, the kicking efficiency of the Saints wasn’t of an acceptable standard. The Hawks look like they are building to finish in the top four, but it’s still early to judge where teams are at.

Crows vs Suns
There was hope brought to the Gold Coast, with new Coach Stuart Dew appearing to transform the Suns, however, the Suns copped their second belting for the year. The Crows look to be back to the form they displayed that resulted in them making the Grand Final last year.

Bombers vs Demons
The Bombers have suffered their second loss in a row. Their performance has been disappointing, because the manner of which they have lost has been unacceptable. It was good to see the Demons bounce back and grab the four points.

Magpies vs Tigers
Every player plays their role for the Tigers. Their pressure is relentless and their skills are efficient. The Magpies were within striking distance for the first three quarters, but the Tigers made it a comfortable victory with a solid performance in the fourth quarter.

Dockers vs Eagles
The derby was the game of the round. This rivalry lived up to its hype, with the margin just eight points in favour of the Eagles. It was the smallest margin of any Round 6 game.

Fittingly it is the final occasion that the Ross Glendinning Medal will be presented; incredibly it was a tie with Lachie Neale and Shannon Hurn joint winners.
