In April, Seven and Fox announced a $1.18 billion broadcast deal for the next six seasons of Aussie cricket.

The deal sees the two networks share the rights for every men’s Test match, every women’s international, 43 of 59 men’s Big Bash League matches and 23 Women’s Big Bash League matches.

Fox will exclusively televise every men’s ODI and Twenty20 internationals, plus the remaining 16 BBL matches.

Now, the two networks need to find commentary teams to lead their coverage.

Fox Sports have so far signed Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Michael Vaughan, Michael Hussey, Isa Guha, Mel Jones and Shane Warne.

Seven have only signed Ricky Ponting and Damien Fleming at this stage.

Michael Slater is the best person to leads Seven’s coverage. He is always so enthusiastic about the game, no matter who’s playing and what’s happened. He is the man that Seven needs to go up against Gilchrist.

Other commentators who come to mind for Seven to sign are Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, Michael Clarke, Alison Mitchell, Graeme Swann, Greg Blewett, Lisa Sthalekar, Belinda Clark, Kevin Pietersen and Mark Howard.

Mark ‘Howie’ Howard could be the main man to call BBL matches, along with Pietersen. Slater, Ponting, Fleming, Lee, McGrath, Mitchell, Clarke and Swann would make up an excellent Test call team, while Bruce McAvaney and James Brayshaw (who are already at Seven) would also be great additions to the team.

Clark and Sthalekar would be great additions to call Tests as well as WBBL and BBL.

Michael Slater is just a talented media personality for anything.
