Vice-captain Rory Sloane will lead some timely Adelaide inclusions as last year’s AFL grand finalists try to snap their four-game losing streak.
Sloane, Tom Lynch, Rory Laird and Luke Brown should all return for Saturday’s match against West Coast at Adelaide Oval.
A foot injury has sidelined Sloane since round four and he has been one of the worst casualties in Adelaide’s horror injury run.
Lynch (side) is also set to play for the first time since round 11 and earlier this week he gave the Crows another much-needed morale boost by announcing a three-year contract extension.
Laird, an All-Australian selection last year, also has been out of action since the round-11 loss to GWS with a hand injury and fellow defender Luke Brown (ankle) was hurt the week after.
All four trained on Wednesday and the Crows expect them to be available.
As Adelaide try to keep their finals hopes alive, the Eagles are coming off losses to Sydney and Essendon and will remain without key forwards Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling.
But Dom Sheed should be recalled after he responded to last week’s axing with a solid WAFL hitout.
Richmond and Sydney made two changes apiece for Thursday night’s Etihad Stadium blockbuster.
Jarrad McVeigh returns for the Swans, but goalsneak Tom Papley is out with a hip injury.
Harry Marsh was left out for McVeigh and James Rose comes in for his first senior game this season.
The Tigers regained two premiership players and left out a third, with Dion Prestia and David Astbury returning and Kamdyn McIntosh dropped.
Ryan Garthwaite, who made his senior debut last week, made way for Astbury.
The Western Bulldogs could have done with defender Matt Suckling in last week’s tight loss to North Melbourne and he could be back from an Achilles injury on Friday night against Geelong.
Forward Quinton Narkle will be Geelong’s sixth AFL debutant this season.
Key defender Harry Taylor, midfielders Scott Selwood and Cam Guthrie and forward Daniel Menzel are also in contention for recalls after coming off the injury list.
