After a 56-point loss to Hawthorn, the Adelaide Crows players have enjoyed a week off to freshen up, while the club has dealt with scrutiny over on-field performances this year and management of their players.
The Crows parted ways with mind performance company ‘Collective Mind’ and re-signed tall-forward Tom Lynch in the bye-week, but to get their season back on track, they desperately need a win against the Eagles.
West Coast are coming off a 28 point loss to Essendon, set up by a six goal Bombers’ onslaught in the opening term.
After a shocking opening quarter, the Eagles had their chances to fight back into the game, but poor options when going forward and inaccurate goal-kicking gave West Coast their third loss of the year.
In good news for the Crows, Rory Sloane returns from the foot injury that has kept him sidelined since round four, while defenders Rory Laird and Luke Brown will also return from injuries.
Darcy Fogarty and Curtly Hampton have been included as part of five changes to the side.
Rory Atkins and Patrick Wilson have been omitted, while Eddie Betts (hamstring), Sam Gibson (hamstring) and Andy Otten (achilles) are out injured.
West Coast have made two changes, with injuries to their forward-line continuing.
Mark LeCras is out with a wrist injury and Jackson Nelson omitted; Brendon Ah Chee and Brayden Ainworth are in to travel to Adelaide and face the Crows.
The Eagles won the last clash between these two teams by 29 points in round 23, 2017.
Prediction
West Coast looked lost without their key forwards, struggling to score against Essendon, and in recent weeks Adelaide have also had difficulty going forward and putting winning scores on the board.
