The Brisbane Broncos have all but secured their top-eight spot, while the Gold Coast Titans remain a slim chance of qualifying for the finals. Join The Roar from 4:10pm (AEST) for live scores and coverage of their match.

The Titans have strung together a series of strong performances in recent weeks, with back-to-back wins over the Bulldogs at Belmore and the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt.

It has helped them to 11th position, level with the Raiders and Tigers on 14 points.

Star halfback Ashley Taylor and skipper Ryan James have been inspirational in leading their club from the front and should be available to play against the Broncos, provided James isn’t called into Brad Fittler’s NSW side.

The Titans will be without Maroons Jarrod Wallace and Jai Arrow in the middle of the park, however they still have enough experience to challenge a youthful Broncos outfit.

Brisbane have Corey Oates, James Roberts, Josh McGuire and Andrew McCullough absent due to State of Origin selection, prompting Wayne Bennett to call on Ipswich junior Jake Turpin to make his NRL debut, at hooker.

The Broncos currently sit in eighth and need a win to stay level with the Roosters and Sharks, both on 20 points and with the bye.

Brisbane have won four of their last five games, including a come-from-behind win over the Raiders last week. They will need to be switched on however as the Titans’ performances in recent weeks haven’t let teams come back in the second half, with Garth Brennan’s men putting in strong 80-minute displays.

The Southeast Queensland rivals have played in 24 matches since the Titans joined the NRL in 2007, Brisbane having won 18 to the Titans’ six. However, the younger brothers pulled off a stunning 26-18 victory in Round 4 of this year.

Prediction
The Gold Coast will hold on for a win over their big brother after a string of impressive victories.
