Round 19 was one of the best in the AFL this season. The highlight of the week was a magic moment that involved Jack Higgins.

I nearly fell off of my couch when Higgins kicked an exceptional ‘snag.’ What an entertaining and intelligent footballer he is.

The entire game between the Tigers and the Magpies was a highlight for me – with the standard of play finals like.

Tom Hawkins kicked seven goals for the second week in a row. The Bombers played some scintillating football against the Swans, while the Blues won their second game of the season.

The Demons rebounded from a tight loss in Round 18 to win an interstate match against the Crows.

The Kangaroos took down the Eagles and lastly, the Dockers were the letdown of the week.

Top five coaches of Round 19
1. Damien Hardwick (Tigers)
2. Brad Scott (Kangaroos)
3. Simon Goodwin (Demons)
4. John Worsfold (Bombers)
5. Alastair Clarkson (Hawks)

Below are the key points from Round 19.

Bombers v Swans
The Bombers are on the rise.

What an intriguing season this has been for Essendon. On the other side of things, the Swans have struggled. However, they were actually in the top four prior to Round 19.

As good as the Bombers were, the Swans were disappointing. For the second week in a row, the Bombers could have won easily, but they failed to kick straight.

Tigers vs Magpies
The Tigers are a phenomenal team.

Richmond played a good four quarters of footy. The Magpies were competitive but came up short in the last quarter. It should be noted, however, that they did have injuries.

And though I said it before, Jack Higgins kicked what may have been the best goal I’ve ever seen.

Cats vs Lions
The Cats are back in form.

Geelong returned to the level of performance that they are known for after being outplayed by the Demons in Round 18.

The Lions had a let down in the past round, despite a strong performance in the month prior to last Saturday.

Giants vs Saints
GWS are on a good run.

Somehow, the Saints played a fantastic first half, and that is apart from on the scoreboard where they were losing. The Giants class showed through in the second half.

Suns vs Blues
The Suns followed up their best win of the season in Round 18 with probably their worst loss of the season in Round 19. It was a morale-boosting victory for the Blues.

Suns team lifter: Jarrod Harbrow
Blues team lifters: Patrick Cripps, Marc Murphy

Crows vs Demons
The Crows threw away an opportunity.

The Crows would be disappointed with their performance, while the Demons bounced back from a close loss to the Cats in Round 18. Remarkably, the Crows managed to kick the first three goals of the game, yet they were largely underwhelming after that.

Kangaroos vs Eagles
The ‘Roos ran rampant.

North Melbourne returned to form as they outplayed the Eagles.

There was no excuse for the Eagles’ woeful display, despite missing key players Josh Kennedy and Luke Shuey. Who would have thought?

Last weekend the Eagles won easily and the Kangaroos lost comprehensively.

Kangaroos team lifters: Todd Goldstein, Paul Ahern, Ben Cunnington
Eagles team lifter: Elliot Yeo

Bulldogs vs Power
The Bulldogs were competitive for the first half, while the Power found their groove in the second half. Charlie Dixon had a quality game, kicking five goals.

Dockers vs Hawks
The Hawks won convincingly for a second week in a row. The Dockers showed why they are possibly the most underwhelming team in the 2018 season.
