With a spot in the FFA Cup final on the line, Bentleigh Greens and Adelaide United will leave nothing on the park when they clash at 7:30pm (AEST) on Friday, October 5.

It’s been quite the journey for Bentleigh Greens, who normally participate in the National Premier League in Victoria. They breezed through their state’s bracket in the preliminary rounds, before making headlines with a stunning 1-0 upset of the A-League’s Wellington Phoenix in the round of 32.

They followed that up with a 4-0 demolition of Broadmeadow Magic, before knocking off arch-rivals Heidelberg United in the quarter-finals, 1-0.

Adelaide United, on the other hand, will be looking to reach the final for the third time in five seasons. The Reds were the inaugural FFA cup champions in 2014, before falling to Sydney FC 2-1 in extra time last year.

They took care of Central Coast 3-0 in the round of 32, before edging out the Queensland Lions and APIA Leichhardt Tigers to reach the semis. They’re yet to concede a goal in this tournament, and are strong favourites to reach the decider.
