It’s the final day of the AFL trade period and for the first time in history, ‘Deadline Day’ is going to be a primetime event.

If you want to watch all the most crucial trades go down live in the final hours of the trade period, you’re in the right place – we’ve got all the info you need to know.

The first thing you need to know is that unlike in previous years, the trade deadline in 2018 doesn’t close until 8:30pm AEDT on Wednesday 17 October.

After experimenting with the concept last year, AFL.com.au will have a live camera in the trade room during the final hours of the trade period, and broadcast the final hours of the trade period live.

Their broadcast will begin live from 5pm AEDT and will feature the likes of Damian Barrett, Terry Wallace and Kane Cornes.

There are a few ways to watch. The broadcast can be live stream on the AFL.com.au Website, or you could look to use the AFL app which is available for both Android and Apple devices.

You can also listen to an audio-only version of the broadcast via the AFL Trade Radio, which is available from the same locations.

Deadline Day is set to see deals done for perhaps as many as 20 AFL names or perhaps even more.

Rory Lobb is likely to join Fremantle and Jesse Hogan may join him there also, while the Dockers are set to lose Lachie Neale to the Brisbane Lions.

While Brisbane should secure Neale, odds are they’re going to lose Dayne Beams to Collingwood, though at what cost it’s hard to say.

The pick that goes from Brisbane to Fremantle could then go to Melbourne for Hogan and perhaps further on also to bring Steven May and Kade Kolodjashnij to the Demons.

Chad Wingard and Ryan Burton look set to trade places with reports early on Friday morning that Burton has agreed to join the Power on a four-year deal.

Dylan Shiel should get to Essendon by the end of the night but whether it will be done for two first-round picks or just one remains to be seen.

Tim Kelly is perhaps the biggest question of the trade period though with Geelong seeming likely to dig their heels in and hold him to his contract unless West Coast find a creative solution.
