The NBA All-Star weekend pits the best of the best against each other in a weekend of skills competitions that culminates with the All-Star game.

The 2019 All-Star game, held in Charlotte, will begin at midday (AEDT) on Monday, February 18 (Australian time).

While the match itself is often played with more fun, flair and showmanship than competitive integrity, being selected to a starting All-Star roster is still one of the most prestigious individual honours in the game. For fans, the opportunity to see such a large contingent of the NBA’s very best players on the same court makes it all worth watching.

How to watch the All-Star weekend on TV

The 2019 All-Star game and all periphery events will be shown exclusively on ESPN, who hold the exclusive rights to any NBA coverage in Australia.

If you want to watch ESPN’s coverage, you will need to a valid Foxtel TV subscription, with the sports package included.

ESPN can be found on Foxtel channel 508.

Fortunately, there are a few more options available to you if you’d prefer to live stream the All-Star action.

The best of those is Kayo Sports, a sports streaming service that gives you access to all of Foxtel’s sporting content for a standalone subscription fee – no other TV packages required.

If you want to live stream Foxtel sports content and some of their other TV offerings as well, Foxtel Now is the service you’ll want to use.

Those who already have a Foxtel subscription can simply use the Foxtel App – which is included as part of the pay-TV subscription.

You can also purchase an NBA League Pass subscription, with the NBA actually offering a 30 per cent discount on the subscription prior to the All-Star game.

All you need to know about the weekend

Following the dramatic shift last year, the organisers have elected to continue the new format.
