The Game of Codes podcast is back to its normal schedule this week, which means today marks a new episode packed with the biggest talking points in Australian sport.

First up, the A-League grand final and a highly anticipated clash between Perth Glory and Sydney FC. Former Melbourne Victory star Archie Thompson joins us to share his tip for the match along with the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Watford on Sunday morning. Plus, he shares a player’s perspective on tensions between fans, police and stadium security in the wake of a controversial incident at Kogarah’s Jubilee Oval on Friday night.

Then, we ask rugby league Expert Mary Konstantopoulos how New South Wales coach Brad Fittler solves the selection dilemma at the centres and halves. With State of Origin looming and several key candidates either sidelined through injury or in the middle of a form slump, who gets called up for game one?

And finally, AFL Expert Adrian Polykandrites helps us predict what the ladder will look like three weeks from now at the conclusion of Round 11, the effective halfway point of the season. Heading into the first week of byes in Round 12, will the competition be following a similar trend or will it be flipped on its head? Plus, we ask whether replacing the Match Review Panel with an individual officer has made the AFL’s processes any less confusing.

Catch the episode in the player above and head to our Game of Codes hub to listen to Tuesday’s edition. Be sure to subscribe and review on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or wherever else you’re listening.
