The NBA Finals will feature the Toronto Raptors for the first time in franchise history as they get set to face off with the Golden State Warriors, who have made their fifth straight finals series. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the series online in Australia, or watching it on TV.
Game 1 of the seven-match series is scheduled to be played in Toronto at the Scotiabank Arena, with tip-off set for 11am (AEST) on Friday, May 31.
The Raptors have home court advantage for the finals series by virtue of holding the better record after the regular season. They won the Eastern Conference Finals by knocking out the Milwaukee Bucks 4-2, while the Warriors swept the Portland Trail Blazers 4-0 in the Western Conference.
If you are looking to watch the NBA finals series on TV in Australia, then you will need to ensure you have a valid Foxtel TV subscription, complete with the sports package.
This is because the exclusive NBA broadcaster to Australian audiences is ESPN, who can be found on Channel 508. Their coverage of each game will start an hour before tip-off.
If you are looking to stream the coverage online, then there will be a couple of ways to do this.
Kayo Sports, who have the rights to all of Foxtel’s sports channels and other selected events for $25 per month will be the best option.
You can also catch the ESPN coverage on either the Foxtel App as part of a TV package, or Foxtel Now if you’d prefer to stream Foxtel channels. Again, both of these options will require you to have the sports package of channels to watch the ESPN coverage.
The other option to watch the NBA finals is through the NBA League Pass.
Here at The Roar, you can tune into all the action with our live blog and highlights of all the key moments from each of the seven games.
