The Australian Boomers might have only played Canada a fortnight ago in a pair of warm-up games, but the two nations will open their Basketball World Cup campaigns against each other on Sunday, September 1 at 5:30pm (AEST).

The match is set to be played at Dongguan Basketball Centre in China.

The Boomers come into the World Cup off the stunning victory over the USA in Melbourne last week, however, splitting their pre-World Cup warm-up series with Canada and then the USA means they have plenty to work on.

Canada, who stunned Australia with their understrength roster in the first warm-up game, will be looking to repeat the dose in the opening World Cup contest for the two nations, and they will be confident after a successful pair of matches against New Zealand in Sydney last week, followed by a loss to the USA.
