The Australian Boomers, in what most pundits are calling their best chance to medal at the Basketball World Cup, will open the campaign against Canada in what is a crucial game. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the action online or on TV.
Tip-off in this group stage encounter is set for 5:30pm (AEST) on Sunday, September 1.
The Boomers will be out to put in a big display and dispel some doubts after they dropped a game to Canada in a home World Cup warm-up series two weeks ago.
This is a pivotal game though. Lithuania and Senegal are the other two teams in their group, and all four teams would have thoughts of realistically being able to make the second ound of competition.
All of the Boomers matches at the 2019 World Cup will be broadcast live on Fox Sports right around Australia.
Their coverage of this first game will begin at 5:30pm (AEST) on Fox Sports Channel 507, and run through to the end of the contest.
They will take the international FIBA feed, meaning you won’t hear the normal NBL or Fox Sports commentary teams for the match.
To watch the game on TV, you’ll need to have a valid Foxtel TV subscription, complete with the sports package.
As is the case with every sporting event broadcast on Foxtel, the best way to stream the Basketball World Cup will be through Kayo Sports. Their advantage for the World Cup is that they have every single game live, where as Foxtel and Fox Sports do not due to the massive amount of content.
As the Boomers are being broadcast on Fox Sports however, you’ll also be able to use either Foxtel Now or the Foxtel App to stream the action.
