The Australian Boomers will look to book their spot in the second round of the Basketball World Cup when they play their next match against Senegal at the Dongguan Basketball Centre.

Tip-off in the second match of the FIBA World Cup campaign is set down for 5:30pm (AEST) on Tuesday, September 3.

Australia are coming into the match off a topsy-turvy, but in the end, fairly dominant victory over Canada in their opening match.

They are heavy favourites against Senegal, who are widely tipped to be the worst team in the group of death at the World Cup, with Australia, Canada and Lithuania all holding claims to post successful results.

Senegal got their campaign off to a horror start, confirming those claims with a 101-47 loss to Lithuania.

A win here though would all but ensure the Boomers have smooth passage into the second round.
