The UFC middleweight championship is up for grabs as current champion Robert Whittaker takes on interim champion Israel Adesanya at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. This is The Roar’s ultimate guide to catching a UFC 243 live stream or watching it on TV.

Australia’s Robert Whittaker was promoted to undisputed middleweight champion when Georges St-Pierre vacated the title in December 2017. Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya defeated Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 in April, however, to lay claim to the interim title.

The main card will get underway at 1pm (AEDT) on Sunday, October 6, with the Whittaker-Adesanya bout the fifth and final fight on the list (due to one cancellation).

How to watch UFC 243 on TV

The only way to watch UFC 243 on TV will be to purchase the fight via Foxtel’s pay-per-view service, Main Event. They’ll broadcast the entire main card from 1pm (AEDT), while also showing replays at 7pm, 1am and 10pm the next day.

You need a valid Foxtel subscription to access Main Event, with the fight itself costing an additional $54.95.

ESPN – available on Foxtel channel 508 – has extensive pre-fight coverage, beginning with UFC 243 Countdown at 7:30am (AEDT), before UFC Live begins at 8:30am, UFC Fight Camp at 9am and the official pre-show at 9:30am. They’ll have coverage of some of the undercard fights from 10am to 12pm, but it’s not specified as to exactly which fights will be shown.

To reiterate, however, ESPN will not have coverage of the main fight.

ESPN’s preview and preliminary fight coverage will be available via Kayo Sports. Kayo lets you stream any Foxtel sporting content on your preferred device for $25 a month.

ESPN’s coverage will also be available through the Foxtel App or Foxtel Now.

Foxtel Now is a streaming-only variant of the pay-TV service that you can subscribe to, while the Foxtel App is included with existing Foxtel TV subscriptions.

As always, The Roar, will have all highlights and talking points available on site.
