The Melbourne Storm are dealing with bombshell movement rumours, with star winger Josh Addo-Carr reportedly weighing up a move back to Sydney for family matters.
While the Storm are – for now – playing hardball and claiming he will not be leaving the club, we all know how quickly things change in the NRL.
With Craig Bellamy’s side already having lost Brodie Croft (Broncos), Curtis Scott (Raiders) and Will Chambers (Japanese rugby), they can scarcely afford to lose an Origin-calibre winger as well – especially not one who’s led the club in try-scoring in all three seasons he’s been there.
We were joined on the Game of the Codes podcast by Roar NRL expert AJ Mithen to discuss the potential fallout at Melbourne of an Addo-Carr departure, as well as which Sydney clubs are the best chance to sign him.
Wests Tigers have been mooted as the favourites – especially after they dropped out of the race for Latrell Mitchell – but can clubs like St George Illawarra, South Sydney or the Penrith Panthers make a serious bid for the 24-year-old?
