Italy’s Six Nations clash against England in Rome next Saturday has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Italian government on Wednesday said all sporting events until April 3 must be behind closed doors if they are to go ahead.
Instead the Six Nations elected to postpone the match – and the women’s and under-20 meetings between the countries the same weekend – “with the intention to reschedule” at later dates.
Italy have already had their March 7 visit to Ireland postponed but the Six Nations reiterated it “fully intends to complete all 15 games across all three championships when time allows.”
