State of Origin is upon us for another year, with the NSW Blues taking on the Queensland Maroons in Game 1 of the 2020 series at Adelaide Oval. If you want to watch a live stream of the big match or catch it on TV instead, here’s all the information you need to know.

The Blues are heavy favourites for Game 1 and the entire Origin series this year, having won the Shield in the last two years after years of Queensland dominance.

While NSW have most of the same core of the side that has been at the heart of those series successes, the Maroons are very much a new-look side, with eight debutants in the side and a new coach as well, Wayne Bennett taking over from previous boss Kevin Walters.

Tonight’s game will kick-off at 8:10pm (AEDT), and is due to finish slightly after 10pm.

How to live stream Origin 1 online

If you are looking to live stream State of Origin online, there is just the one (legal) option to use.

With the Nine Network holding exclusive broadcast rights for the entire series, their live streaming platform 9Now will show all of their coverage tonight, beginning from 7pm (AEDT). The good news is it’s a free service, so you won’t have to pay anything to watch the game online, although you will need to sign up for an account.

They’ll also have streams focused on single players for either team, as well as both coaches, during the match.

While you won’t be able to stream the game live on Kayo Sports or any of Foxtel’s streaming platforms, they will be showing replays of the match, complete with Fox commentary, once it has finished.

How to watch Origin 3 on TV

As previously mentioned, the Nine Network holds exclusive rights to State of Origin, so if you want to watch Game 1 live, you’ll have to tune into the free-to-air network.

NSW vs Queensland will be broadcast on Nine’s main channel throughout the entire country, with coverage starting with pre-game build-up at 7pm (AEDT). With the match due to finish shortly after 10pm (AEDT), they’ll have roughly an hour of post-game wrap-up until the telecast finishes at 11pm.

As was the case on the streaming front, Foxtel doesn’t have the rights to broadcast the match live on their TV channels but they will host replays with their own commentary once Game 1 has finished. The first of these replays will start at 11pm (AEDT) on Fox League.
