Couple of solid meetings have been set down for Albion Park and Tabcorp Park Menangle respectively on Tuesday. Down below is best bets for the respective programs.
Albion Park
Best Bet: Race One Number 3 Ignite
Getting the best bet out of the way nice and early. Promising young trotter for Denis Smith who has been strong in three runs back from a spell, his latest run seeing him sit parked and fighting on strongly when a very narrow second.
The depth here is very thin and all things being equal, he should prove far too good.
Next Best: Race Three Number 7 Greg The Great
Has good change up speed and the smaller field will really assist him using that effectively. Tried to qualify for the recent trotting final but couldn’t quite squeeze into the final field. He finds a very winnable race and is usually a solid beginner, so the 20m handicap should be no dramas and if he’s within range 400m out, think his class and turn of foot will get him home.
Value: Race Seven Number 1 Lancelot Bromac
Hoping he’s around the $7-$8 mark, wishful thinking of double figures. His recent form has been really good. Last start he was in a mood pre race, didn’t want to race early on but put his mind to the task and was a pass mark in defeat all things considered.
He has the pole draw to use, and I hope he can hold leaders back. With that run, he can be quite effective.
Menangle
Best Bet: Race Four Number 1 Hollywood Rooki
Overall, looks a tough meeting, but there are two standouts on the meeting, with this being the first of them and the one I’m most confident about.
One win from 32 starts is ordinary reading, but he’s only had one run for Jason Grimson and the result was an absolute spank job of his rivals at Bathurst in a fast mile rate from the front. Finds the front here, should get control and prove too good.
Next Best: Race Seven Number 4 Outrageous El
He’s been racing in some solid Saturday company of late and been far from disgraced in defeat. Forget he went around last time.
Got caught up in a mad speed battle early and despite getting leaders back eventually, the early burn told and he dropped out to run last. The depth here is nowhere near as strong and he has a bit on these in terms of class.
Value: Race Six Number 3 Islas Joy
Want to give this former Kiwi a chance. Has had two Australian runs, both at Penrith, and to be fair, he hasn’t really set the world on fire in both runs.
Gets to the bigger track off a mini break, he draws soft and did trial up well prior to the Australian debut. Likely goes around double figures here, could easily have something small on him 1×3.
