Coming into the new season, many teams are trying to get deals done as soon as possible to enable players to settle in and get preseason games under their belts.

A lot of deals have been done and a lot are possibly still to come in the weeks before the campaign kickstarts in England. Following another league title last season, which makes it three in four years for Manchester City, there is no question that this team has dominated the English league in recent time. Pep Guardiola’s men have proven to be a level apart from the rest of the English sides but thus far have failed to show their class in the Champions League.

The team played in their maiden Champions League final last season but failed to find the missing treasure. City desire to be crowned champions of Europe, which will stamp their place among the elites of modern football, with the amount of wealth devoted as the testament to their desire. City have shown resolute support in the project and with a place in the final last season, the team is on the right track.

City have had a rather quiet transfer window so far. The departure of club legend Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia will force City find replacements for those positions.

City bosses have shown interest in landing England striker Harry Kane to fill the void of Aguero and completed a record fee deal for Jack Grealish. Can City go on to become champions of Europe as they so desire after capturing their targets?

What will Grealish and Kane offer?

1. Width
Jack Grealish and Harry Kane arriving will bring more width and give them more up front. With Grealish’s creativity coupled with the rich creative forces already in City and a formidable potential striker in Kane, City should be pushing the limits.

2. Attack depth
With the amount of wealth in attack and the addition of Kane and Grealish, City fans will be in for a treat and probably not miss Aguero. Opposition fans should be wary.

3. Squad depth
It’s already looking like an unbeatable team on paper. City boast a high level of players already in their squad overall and are only adding more volume there.

4. Boost morale
Player morale was down already following Sergio Aguero’s departure but with the signing of top-quality players, it’s an added morale boosts that shows the club’s ambition.

City is a quality team and possess world-class talents. With the arrival of Jack Grealish and the potential arrival of Harry Kane, it will be worth seeing how they fair with their lofty aspirations.
