Jack de Belin is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after the NRL slapped him with a three game ban for his hip-drop tackle on Manly’s Christian Tuipulotu on Saturday evening.

The Dragons lock was binned at the time, with Tuipulotu leaving with an MCL injury that might well end his season.

It is the sixth time that JDB has been cited in 2023, and he will likely take the Early Guilty Plea to avoid further sanction.

In the late game, Tyrone Peachey was sin-binned for a high shot on Jack Williams of Cronulla and will now face a two game ban.

In the same game, Braden Hamlin-Uele was fined $3,000 for a high shot, with the maximum financial penalty handed down given his record of three or more previous charges. The prop did, however, avoid a ban.

The 3pm game saw just one charge, with Raiders fullback Seb Kris given a fine of $750 for taking our Kalyn Ponga in mid-air. The Knights star left the field with concussion, but later returned and has been cleared.

The headlines out of Friday night’s games were fines for Davvy Moale and Keaon Koloamatangi of Souths, with both being cited for shoulder charges.

Koloamatangi copped two separate fines, both for charges on Wests Tigers enforcer David Klemmer, while Moale hit Shawn Blore. The Tigers received just one charge, with rookie James Aitasi slapped with a fine for a high tackles.

Pat Carrigan and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves were also given monetary penalties for high tackles in Thurrsday night’s clash between the Broncos and Roosters at The Gabba.

There were no charges at all stemming from the NRLW.
