Latrell Mitchell scored the opening try for the New South Wales Blues against the Queensland Maroons in State of Origin 3 at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.
The try came in the 11th minute of play as Mitchell carved through Queensland’s defence after darting inside from the left wing.
It was a worrying sign for the Maroons who were hoping to avoid a rare clean sweep.
The try was Mitchell’s sixth in Origin and came after he scored a sensational intercept try earlier in the series.
Thankfully for Maroons supporters there was a positive with debutant Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow hitting back with a try of his own a short time later.
