Joe Ingles equals career-high in Utah Jazz's win over Boston Celtics

Aussie basketball star Joe Ingles was huge in the Utah Jazz’s win over the Boston Celtics in Salt Lake City.

The 31-year-old tied his career-best return of 27 points – including 20 from the first half alone – while also gathering five rebounds and seven assists in the 123-115 victory.

Ingles clearly had the hot hand in the first half of the contest, draining eight of nine attempts from the field, as well as four three-pointers.

Though the Celtics rallied during the final quarter, bringing the match back to within four points, Ingles and the Jazz would hold on.

When asked after the match by ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt if he has become the best shooter in the world, Ingles attributed his emergence over recent seasons to his self-belief.

“I’m very confident,” he laughed.

“I wasn’t for a little while there… I was struggling a little bit. I was getting good looks which just weren’t going down.”

“My teammates were great, they just kept telling me to keep shooting.”
