Fresh off famous wins over their crosstown rivals, Adelaide and Gold Coast lock horns at the Adelaide Oval knowing only one team can leave with finals hopes still alive. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 2:10pm (AEST).
It’s unlikely… but having knocked over Port Adelaide and Brisbane respectively in major upsets last week, the Suns and Crows are just a win outside the top eight, and a chance of fighting their way into September if they can pile on four wins from their last four games of the season.
It makes this match an elimination final, and comes with a double dose of misfortune for the Suns: not only have they never won at the Adelaide Oval, or even in South Australia since their first game in the state back in 2011, but they will need to do it without co-captain Touk Miller, due to his one-match misconduct ban.
The Crows have issues of their own, with Jordon Butts’ injury forcing them to turn to debutant James Borlase as the last key defender left standing: but with young gun Josh Rachele back and in front of their home fans, you’d expect them to take care of business and keep in the finals hunt for another week at least.
