After fast starts to the AFL season only one of these teams can continue their run with a third win this Saturday night; it’s the Brisbane Lions hosting the Port Adelaide Power at the Gabba. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match from 7:25pm AEDT.

After a brilliant display at home in round one against the reigning premiers, Brisbane continued their winning ways with a 20-point victory over North Melbourne on Sunday at Marvel Stadium.

A four-goal run to finish the third term put the Lions in front, just, before Charlie Cameron kicked his third and fourth goals in the final quarter to run Brisbane home to a second win to start season 2019.

Port Adelaide also won their second-round match, at home against the fighting Carlton.

Brad Ebert and Steven Motlop kicked three goals each, while Tom Rockliff picked up another 37 disposals in the 16-point victory.

For Port Adelaide the win was soured by the loss of Karl Amon to a knee injury (5-6 weeks) and Jack Watts to a broken fibula and dislocated ankle.

After their undefeated start to the season, Chris Fagan has not made any changes to his side. There are rumoured concerns about some player’s fitness, so don’t rule out a possible late change.

Port Adelaide have been forced to make changes though, with Jack Watts (leg) and Karl Amon (knee) sidelined through injury.

Todd Marshall has also been omitted from the side.

The Power will officially field co-captains for the first time on Saturday night, with Ollie Wines returning from a shoulder injury suffered water skiing in the pre-season.

Dougal Howard and Sam Gray will play their first AFL games in 2019; Gray impressed with four goals for the Magpies in the SANFL last Friday night.

The last time these two sides met was in round 3, 2018 almost a year ago to the day. Port held onto a five-point win at Adelaide Oval, Jared Polec (now at North Melbourne) saved the day with a mark on the goal line.

Port Adelaide’s youngsters continue to impress, while the Brisbane recruits are helping the Lions make an early statement this season. It’s Scott Lycett up against Stefan Martin that is the match up to watch, though.

Prediction
While both sides have surprised the football world with their early victories, Brisbane have been more convincing in the process.

At home on Saturday night, it’s hard to go past the Brisbane Lions.
