Two young and exciting sides, the Fremantle Dockers will host the Carlton Blues in a Saturday night clash at Optus Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 8:10pm (AEST).
Fremantle are on a two-game winning streak, and are in perhaps the best form the team has been in for several years. In Freo fashion, they have been here before this season – winning two clashes over the Saints and Crows before crashing to two hefty losses. Winning today’s clash will ensure they go three straight, with two more games at Optus to come.
Their win over the Hawks last week saw them dominate the game everywhere but the scoreboard, settling for a 16-point win. That followed a two-goal victory over the Pies.
Carlton, too, are a team in decent enough form, but haven’t been able to translate that into wins. They played well for a time against both Hawthorn and West Coast in their last two games but failed to win either. For a team who have been seen as a potential finals smokey, this is a must-win clash for the Bluebaggers.
Carlton’s last two clashes have been at this venue. The two losses take their record here to 1-2, with their only win coming against Freo last June – that wins remains a highlight for Carlton’s upset victories of late. Fremantle have won two of their four matches here this year, including their last two in succession.
