Round 12 concludes with the Fremantle Dockers hosting a Western Bulldogs outfit looking to redeem themselves from last week’s ugly loss. Tune into the action from Optus Stadium right here on The Roar with live scores from 6:40pm (AEST).

The Bulldogs’ status as premiership favourites was swiftly taken off them with their loss to Melbourne on Friday night. While the Dogs have only lost two games for the year, and sit pretty in seventh, that’s now two major challenges they’ve failed in 2021, the other their defeat to Richmond back in Round 7.

With matches against Geelong and West Coast to come, a loss here could see Luke Beveridge’s team start to fall down the ladder. They’ve rung the changes for their trip west, with ruckman Stefan Martin returning from injury, while luckless midfielder Patrick Lipinski is again on the outer.

The Dockers have flirted with making a serious run for the finals this season, but have consistently been found wanting against the best sides in the competition. Round 11 was a perfect example, the Dockers gallant but ultimately outclassed by Port Adelaide to the tune of 46 points.

After kicking 9.15 last week, the Dockers will welcome the return of spearhead Matt Taberner from injury, while key defender Griffin Logue is also back to help shore up the defence. With Dogs’ tall targets Josh Bruce and Aaron Naughton both in excellent form, Logue and fellow backs Luke Ryan and Brennan Cox have their work cut out for them to keep the big Dogs down.
