Show Preview

Carlton are out to continue their undefeated start to the season when they travel north to take on Gold Coast to finish Round 4. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:10pm (AEST).

The Suns were outclassed in the middle last week against the Giants but have shown a lot throughout the first three rounds to keep their fans happy. Touk Miller, Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson are the future of this club and despite Miller being tagged last week, their match up against the high-flying Blues engine room proves that they are destined for a great tussle this afternoon.

Mabior Chol and Levi Casboult kept the score lines from being a blowout last week with three goals apiece to ensure they remained in touch with Giants late in the game. In order for them to succeed against the Blues, they need to match up well against the likes of Sam Docherty and Jacob Weitering.

Carlton were lucky to hang onto victory last weekend after a dominant start against the Hawks after being 30 points up at halftime. They will need to be on their game to keep the momentum rolling in their season.

The Blues enter this match as hot favourites with the likes of Patrick Cripps, Matt Kennedy, Sam Walsh and George Hewett gelling to become the most formidable midfield group in the league. The key to Carlton’s continued success is through these four midfield bulls.

Harry Mackay, Charlie Curnow and Jack Silvagni are in great form at the moment in the forward line and they will need to continue their pressure to maintain Carlton’s place on the ladder.

Prediction

Despite the Suns’ improvements this year, I think the Blue will win this one by 30 points.
