Melbourne are coming off a terrific win last week against the Brisbane Lions, and what made the win that little bit sweeter for the Demons was the fact it was an interstate win.

The 39-point victory for the Demons over the Lions has definitely sent a message to the entire competition.

What will please the Demons faithful was just how even the performance was. Everyone in the red and blue contributed, but of course, there were some standout performances.

Karen Paxman continued her good form, reeling in 24 disposals. Lauren Pearce was terrific in the ruck, accumulating 21 disposals and 15 hit-outs.

Aliesha Newman was immense when it came to kicking for goal. The lively forward scored three majors, but what was impressive was the fact those goals came at a time the game was still even.

She ultimately opened the door for the Demons to go on and have a big victory.

As for North Melbourne, they are also coming off a big victory against the Western Bulldogs. The Kangaroos were 31-point victors in Tasmania, which sees them remain undefeated in Conference A.

Similar to what Melbourne were able to do to Brisbane, the Kangaroos had an even spread of contributors against the Bulldogs.

Jenna Bruton and Jamie Stanton were the two Kangaroos to have 20 disposals or more, but it was Courteney Munn who was the standout player for North Melbourne.

The forward proved too much for the Western Bulldogs’ defence, as she booted four majors.

North Melbourne will be looking to remain undefeated when they travel to Melbourne’s south-east this Sunday.

Prediction
This game has the potential to be an absolute classic. Both sides at their best are electric to watch, and if both the Demons and Kangaroos play anywhere near their best at Casey Fields on Sunday, it will be a game to remember.

However, I do feel though that North Melbourne’s big guns will get them across the line.

The Kangaroos to prevail by nine points.
