The final game of 20 straight days of football sees the Richmond Tigers host the Gold Coast Suns at The Gabba. Join The Roar for live scores form 7:10pm (AEST).

It is fair to say that neither of these teams would be satisfied with their Round 11 results.

For the Tigers, they succumbed to a red-hot Port Adelaide to eventually lose by 21 points. It was a frustrating disruption for a decent run for the reigning premiers, as they returned to form with a couple of strong wins over Brisbane and the Bulldogs before the loss. This is a game they’d want to win heading into next week’s clash with rivals Essendon – and a game where they would want to be more disciplined, after some dubious decision making against Port that raised the ire of coach Damien Hardwick.

The Suns, too, would be feeling a little burned by their draw with Essendon last Wednesday. Though it was a competitive clash, the Suns didn’t take late chances to win the game after they made a late charge. The draw continued a recent theme of coming close but not winning – the close loss against St Kilda and now splitting the points with the Bombers represents this. Gold Coast have fallen from their early-season heights and have dropped behind the finals pack, making Richmond a potentially vital scalp.

Richmond have a good record at this venue, winning here earlier in the season (and winning every game they’ve played in Queensland this year). Stuart Dew’s team have not actually played at the Gabba this year – their last game here coming last season, their last win coming in 2018.
