The St Kilda Saints will be out to break an eight-game losing streak against the Adelaide Crows, when the two face off at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Join The Roar for all the action, with live scores and a blog of the match starting at 4:35pm AEST.

St Kilda had their best victory yet last Saturday, a dominant 40-point win over the Melbourne Demons at the MCG.

It was a tight start, but the deadly accurate Saints piled on eight goals straight to kick away in the second and third terms.

Melbourne fought back as the Saints started to tire, but two late goals ensured the percentage-boosting win, a comprehensive and inspired team performance that was enjoyable for fans to watch.

Adelaide took on the Gold Coast Suns last Sunday, desperate for a win to re-start their season.

The early signs were sadly much of the same, poor disposal, slow game-plan and inaccuracy in front of goals, but whatever Don Pyke had to say to his team at quarter time worked a treat, as the Crows got going and kicked away.

In his 300th AFL game, creative forward Eddie Betts kicked six goals in Adelaide’s 73-point victory.

At selection on Thursday, both sides made just one forced change.

Saints captain Jarryn Geary will miss after a corked quad required surgery on Saturday night.

Geary remains in hospital and is expected to spend several weeks on the sideline recovering from the corky.

Daniel McKenzie, who missed last week’s win with concussion symptoms, has won the battle for the spot in the winning team.

Adelaide also have one change. Wayne Milera is out of the side with an AC joint injury, Myles Poholke will take his place.

Poholke impressed with four goals from 30 disposals in the Crows SANFL draw last weekend.

The last time these two met was over a year ago in round three, 2018. It was a competitive start, but the Crows ran away to a 49-point win in Melbourne.

Prediction
Everything says pick the Saints, they’re the feel-good story to start season 2019.

The exclusion of skipper Jarryn Geary might well be the game changer; this could be an inspired victory or a defensively-challenged loss.

It should be a close one, but expect the Adelaide Crows to continue the revival of their season and even the ledger at 3-3, with a win over the Saints.

Crows by 12 points.
