The West Coast Eagles are looking to avenge last year’s shock finals loss to the Collingwood Magpies in a Friday night epic at Optus Stadium. Stay up to date with their AFL clash with live scores on The Roar from 8:10pm (AEST).

It was the upset of the finals last year; West Coast had looked vastly superior for the home-and-away season, while strict quarantine procedures in the state had compromised Collingwood’s preparation. Instead, the Eagles went down by a point in a bitterly disappointing end to their season. After a head-scratching loss to St Kilda – where they surrendered a 33-point third-quarter lead – West Coast have all the motivation they need tonight.

Collingwood will take inspiration from last year’s monumental upset, but the odds look to be stacked against them even more this time. The Magpies come into tonight’s match with just one win to their name, and were particularly listless in a five-goal loss – at home – to the previously winless Giants last week.

Last year’s match was West Coast’s second one-point loss to Collingwood in three games – although they’ve won four of the last six overall. Collingwood have held their own at Optus Stadium, winning on four of seven visits.
