The season is on the line for the Western Bulldogs and Richmond when they lock horns in a virtual elimination final under the Friday night lights. Join The Roar for live scores from 1:45pm (AEST).

Separated by just two premiership points in eighth and 11th on the ladder respectively, the loser could finish the round as low as 13th – while the winner will spend the night, at least, in the eight.

The Dogs have lost three of their last four, two by under a goal, to put their finals hopes in serious jeopardy, with last week’s loss to GWS having led by 35 points a chance to prove especially costly.

Luke Beveridge has had to replace almost his entire backline, with Josh Bruce’s ruptured ACL and Alex Keath’s concussion forcing drastic changes, though star defender Liam Jones’ return from a broken arm comes at a welcome time.

The Tigers have a series of key ins, including ruckman Toby Nankervis and sharp-kicking on-baller Jayden Short, though with so much at stake the resting of champion Dustin Martin comes as a surprise.

Neverthless, the Tigers head in with three wins from their last four, the only defeat last week’s gallant loss to Melbourne, and are more than capable of ending their two-year Marvel Stadium hoodoo and getting the chocolates here.
